Famagusta, Cyprus

Here Comes the Sun... Famagusta in the Republic of Cyprus (not to be confused with the town of Famagusta in the occupied area of Northern Cyprus) is the easternmost region and boasts the best beaches in the country. In combination with a healthy sub-tropical climate, the authentic Cypriot lifestyle creates an appeal to anyone wanting to renew their zest for living. This is an ideal backdrop if you are looking for a permanent move or perhaps investment in a holiday home that will pay dividends - and reward friends, family and other guests who visit with treasured memories.

Famagusta embraces a seaboard blessed with superb resorts and idyllic coastal seascapes to rival Hawaii and the Caribbean. The sandy beaches of Kapparis stretch along the coastline towards Pernera, leading on to Protaras and its famous Fig Tree Bay. The promontory at Cape Greco (Cavo Grekko) rises and projects majestically into the sea at the south-eastern tip of Cyprus; this is also a National Forest Park area with a nature trail and the finishing point of the E4 European long distance walking path. The famous resort of Agia Napa is close by. With a picturesque harbour and mediaeval monastery at its heart, this lively resort town has become a by-word for Mediterranean nightlife.

It's Just a Way of Life... This part of Cyprus is a land of sharp contrasts. Agia Napa and other resorts are a natural magnet for visitors - especially those from northern Europe such as the UK, Russia, Germany and Sweden. The character of the countryside changes just a few kilometres from the main tourist centres and offers a genuine choice of living environment to home buyers. Each town, inland village and settlement has its own ‘personal’ charm and attraction.

Paralimni is the regional centre for government offices and has a wide choice of shops, banks and medical facilities. The upmarket coastal settlement of Agia Thekla will be a destination of choice for those keen to enjoy the yachting marina being developed. Inland villages popular with home buyers include Liopetri, Sotira, Dheryneia, Frenaros, Avgorou and Vrysoulles.

So Near - and Not So Far Away... Because distance tends to be no object, nowhere is really that far from anywhere else. The drive time from Larnaca International Airport to Agia Napa is roughly 45 minutes. So, with excellent motorway links to the rest of the island, you can enjoy Cyprus whilst living in a region that has its own character and distinctive way of life.
